Cat, Plant and Shell (2023)
mixed media, 40 x 50 cm
Text narrated by the artist
With one eye slightly open, the curled-up cat looks at the small table in the corner. A cactus plant and a shell are displayed on it. The serene look of the work Cat, Plant and Shell is emphasised not only by the soft colours, but also by the sleepy impression of the gentle grey cat. It does not look like the creature is particularly interested in the plant and shell, but rather that it is watching over them. As if it wanted to make sure everything is still in exactly the right place before it closes its eyes and gently lays its head down. And when the cat is finally asleep, we can quietly watch over the stuff instead.
